Smart Link System: Trace Data without Switching Pages

Tips & Tricks Updated

Smart Link System connecting one repair to its items, payments, discount notes, and journal Open a repair’s detail to reach its linked records without searching again. (App UI shown in Indonesian.)

The problem

In apps where data lives in silos, one simple question forces a tour of the whole menu: look up the repair on one page, hunt for its part on another, then chase the supplier on a third — holding numbers in your head between stops.

The tip

The Smart Link System (SLS) is the connective tissue of the Store App: related data opens right where you’re standing, no page-hopping. It isn’t a feature you switch on — it works because every Automan module reads the same data source.

The touchpoints you’ll use most:

  • In Repairs — from a repair item’s list, open detail and Show Detail on an item: its related data unfolds in place.
  • In Purchases — each purchase row shows its supplier, in sync with the Partners menu.
  • In Products — every product carries its movement history: when and where it was bought, when and where it went out.

Practical steps

  1. When investigating something (stock drift, a complaint, an odd cost), start from the data in front of you — don’t jump menus.
  2. Click detail / Show Detail on the suspicious row: the related data appears in place.
  3. Follow the links back to the source (the original purchase, the supplier, or the repair that consumed it) — the trail connects because the data is one.

When to use it

Every small audit session: verifying where a part came from, answering a customer about their history, or chasing why stock doesn’t match. What used to take five pages now ends on one table.
