WhatsApp Failed or Delayed — How to Read It

Troubleshooting Updated

An unsent WhatsApp message has several possible causes, each with a different fix. This checking order separates them one by one.

1. Check the number’s connection status

Open the WhatsApp settings and look at the session status. A ready session is displayed as Connected. If it has failed or asks for a scan, the connection is the problem — not the message.

2. Rescan when asked

A status requesting a scan is resolved by rescanning the QR from the shop number’s phone (just like re-logging into WhatsApp Web). Once it shows Connected, send one test message.

3. Check the message template

Messages can fail because of the template itself: a mistyped variable or a problematic attachment. Test the template against your own number before blaming the connection.

4. Check the send log

The delivery log shows which messages were sent, failed, or are waiting — separating “didn’t send” from “hasn’t sent yet.”

5. Understand cold-contact holds

Messages to numbers that have never interacted with the shop (cold contacts) can be held and rescheduled by the system. It’s a risk-control mechanism protecting the number’s health — not an error, and no manual resend is needed; the system does the scheduling.

6. Check sending hours

Blasts and reminders respect the sending-hours settings. A “delayed” message is sometimes simply waiting for the next sending window.

An honest note

Automan’s WhatsApp runs on a non-official gateway. The controls above (delays, sending hours, cold-contact holds) are designed to reduce risk, but no system can promise 100% delivery or a block-proof number — and we choose to say that openly.
