For phone, laptop, computer & appliance repair shops
Phone repair shop software built for a busy counter
Automan records devices in, faults, parts, warranties and money in one flow. Every device carries its own IMEI or serial number, storage location and list of accessories left behind, so you can say whose device is on which shelf without asking a technician. Fault categories, service lists and parts catalogues for phones, laptops, desktops, televisions, air conditioners, refrigerators and washing machines are seeded before your first job. Lite is free with no expiry; Pro is Rp 15,000 per month, billed in Indonesian Rupiah.
- 1,767+ repair businesses run on Automan
- Free plan, no expiry date
- Electronics catalogues seeded on day one
The busiest day is the day that leaks the most
Repair counters do not struggle because the work is hard. They struggle because the number of devices passes what memory can hold — and memory is the only system in use. The six below tend to arrive together, usually in the week you can least afford them.
-
Three identical handsets, same colour, booked in on the same morning.
A strip of masking tape is the only thing standing between you and handing back the wrong device.
-
A warranty claim arrives with no receipt and a confident story.
Without a record of the completion date and the part fitted, you lose the argument even when you are right.
-
Finished devices sit on the shelf for weeks.
The shelf fills up, your money sits inside it, and nobody can say which jobs are actually ready to invoice.
-
Screens and batteries leave the cabinet without passing through a record.
The count drifts away from the books, and the difference quietly becomes "someone must have used it".
-
Half of someone’s day goes on answering one question.
"Is it ready yet?" arrives from ten numbers, and the repair queue behind it slips another day.
-
Technicians take parts from stock; the owner finds out later.
The price is already agreed with the customer before anyone knows what the parts really cost.
One device, five checkpoints, and what gets pinned down at each
The fastest way to judge repair shop software is not to count its features. It is to follow a single device from the counter to the moment its owner takes it home. Here is what happens in Automan.
-
1. Booked in at the counter
The device is recorded with its unit type, brand, model and IMEI / serial number — separate fields, not one free-text box. Whatever the customer leaves with it (charger, data cable, case, SIM card, SIM tray) goes on its own list, so what you hand back matches what you took in.
-
2. Onto the shelf
Storage location is a field, not a guess. Which shelf, which drawer — found by searching while the customer is standing at the counter, instead of shouting into the back room.
-
3. On the bench
Symptoms and fault types are picked from a list, so next month you can see which faults actually come through the door. Parts fitted stay attached to that job, with the cost price they were bought at.
-
4. Chased by the customer
The owner of the device checks progress themselves using a code printed on the receipt — no app to install, no account to create. "Is it ready?" ends on that page instead of in your inbox.
-
5. Collected, under warranty
The warranty period is attached to the job, and a scheduled reminder can go out before it lapses. The customer hears from you first, which is a very different conversation from hearing from them.
The intake checklist ships with the app
The riskiest moment at a repair counter is not the repair — it is the handover in both directions. Automan seeds an inspection list so the condition of the device is agreed in front of its owner rather than reconstructed a week later:
- Body condition
- Display & touchscreen
- Front & rear camera
- Power & volume buttons
- Speaker & microphone
- Wi-Fi & cellular signal
- Charging function
Laptops and desktops get their own list (body & hinge condition, display panel, keyboard, touchpad, USB & audio ports, charger function), and so do televisions, air conditioners, refrigerators and washing machines. A checklist built for the wrong device is worse than no checklist at all.
Two seeded catalogues, chosen at setup
Automan ships two electronics business types, and they carry genuinely different content rather than one generic list reused twice. Whichever you pick decides what already exists before your first device is booked in.

Swipe sideways to see more columns
- Everything above arrives as a ticked recommendation — untick all of it and build your own lists if you prefer.
- Both belong to the same kind of unit (electronics), so you can add device types from the other column into a single Store App.
- Seeded units of measure: PCS, SET, PACK, ROLL. Seeded variants: colour, capacity, size, length, voltage.
- Source labels inside the app are Indonesian; the English wording shown here follows the app English labels.
A warranty you can evidence, not argue about
Warranty claims are the conversation most likely to cost you a repeat customer, almost always because both sides are relying on memory.
-
Periods are seeded
Four options exist from the start: 7 days, 14 days, 1 month and 3 months. Use them as they are, or replace them if your shop policy is different.
-
Attached to the job
Completion date, the technician who did the work, and the part that went in all live on the same record. A claim means opening one job, not scrolling a chat thread.
-
Reminded before it lapses
Because the dates exist, a scheduled reminder can go out before the warranty runs out. Reaching the customer first is a far cheaper conversation than the one that starts with a complaint.
- 7-day warranty
- 14-day warranty
- 1-month warranty
- 3-month warranty
How the reminders actually work
Automan reminders run on time — a number of days before or after a date, a fixed date, or a daily, monthly or yearly schedule. They are dispatched from the server, so nothing depends on someone remembering to press send. What we do not claim: reminders that work out on their own when a device is "due" for its next visit.
"Too much setup" — and the six steps that remove it
The first objection from a shop owner is almost never the price. It is the evening spent typing hundreds of master records before the software will accept a single device — an evening most owners have already lost once. The Business Type Wizard removes it: six steps, and the shop is ready to book its first job.
-
Step 1
Store
Shop name, address, contact details and the cash and bank pockets you really use.
-
Step 2
Units
Device types and brands — phones, laptops and desktops, or televisions, air conditioners, refrigerators and washing machines.
-
Step 3
Service
Services, fault categories, symptom lists and the intake inspection checklist. All pre-filled.
-
Step 4
Products
Parts, accessory and tool categories, with units of measure (PCS, SET, PACK, ROLL) and variants (colour, capacity, size, length, voltage).
-
Step 5
Notes & Rules
Receipt layout and some transaction rules, so the first receipt you print is one you are happy to hand over.
-
Step 6
Review
Everything about to be created is shown first. Untick whatever you are never going to use.
Two limits, so nothing surprises you
The Business Type Wizard is built for a brand-new store — once a Store App holds transactions, it is no longer offered. And one Store App serves one kind of unit: electronics or vehicles, never both. If you also run a vehicle workshop, that is a second Store App under the same account — the vehicle side is covered separately in auto repair shop software.
Five objections we hear most
Written out as they are asked, including the ones whose answer is not flattering. You would find these out in week one anyway; better now.
-
"My technicians will never actually use it."
What kills adoption is an empty screen and unfamiliar wording, not the software itself. That is why the symptom lists, fault categories, services and intake checklists arrive pre-filled — a technician picks from a list instead of composing prose. And because Automan runs in the browser, front-counter staff can book a device in from a phone without installing anything.
-
"Too expensive for a shop this size."
Lite is Rp 0 and does not expire, with published daily limits: 5 repair jobs, 10 sales, 20 purchases, 40 returns. If you outgrow those, Pro lifts them for Rp 15,000 per month. The numbers are on the pricing page rather than behind a "contact us" form.
-
"How safe is my shop data?"
Every Store App runs on its own database, so your shop is not sharing a table with thousands of others. That is an architectural isolation claim, not a promise that a breach is impossible — and we are not going to make the second one.
-
"What happens when the internet drops?"
The honest answer: Automan runs in a browser and the data lives on a server, so it needs a connection — including at the counter. There is no offline mode that queues transactions on the device and syncs them later. If your connection is unreliable, weigh that before you move your whole operation across.
-
"Everything is already in a spreadsheet."
That is a normal starting point, not a reason to wait. Only the basic lists have to move first: device types, brands, service list and products. Old job history can stay in the spreadsheet as an archive.
The migration steps are written up separately in moving from Excel.
A second shop: stock moves instead of being retyped
As soon as one account holds more than one active Store App, the inter-store stock transfer menu appears by itself — nothing to buy, nothing to switch on. Shop A sends, shop B confirms receipt (partial receipts allowed), and anything that never arrives is either cancelled or written off as a loss.
What separates this from "subtract here, add there": the cost price travels with the part, following each shop’s costing method (FIFO or average), and the accounting entries post automatically in both sets of books. Opening a branch also gets copy products & categories — the product list, categories and brands carry over, while stock starts at zero, because what copies is the catalogue, not the goods.
Published numbers, limits included
Lite: Rp 0, free with no expiry. The core modules are intact; what is capped is daily volume — 5 repair jobs, 10 sales, 20 purchases, 40 returns. Plenty of single-counter shops stay here permanently, and that is a legitimate outcome rather than a failure to convert.
Pro: Rp 15,000 per month. Unlimited transactions plus image uploads, which is what lets you store a photo of the device as it arrived alongside the job. No countdown timers, no quiet increases.
Who says so, and what we will not pretend about
1,767+ repair businesses run their day-to-day operations on Automan, and most of the stories we can show come from exactly this side of the trade: phone counters, laptop repair, computer service. The three below were collected in person at MTE 2026 and our NGOPI Bareng Automan meetups, then translated from Indonesian.
-
“A better fit for phone technicians. The features are superior and easy to use.”
Diodi Adha Arrival Ipal Cell Service · Tangerang, Indonesia Translated from Indonesian -
“Flexible, tons of features. The WhatsApp part is great — it can auto-notify customers.”
Bayu Purbaya Citra Ponsel · Brebes, Indonesia Translated from Indonesian -
“Managing goods and repair data flow is simple and easy to understand.”
Rikhy Adi Febriyanto Markas Service · Indonesia Translated from Indonesian
That traction is real, and so are its edges. Four facts worth weighing before you invest an evening in setup:
-
Billing is in Indonesian Rupiah.
Rp 0 for Lite, Rp 15,000 per month for Pro. There is no dollar or euro price list, and we are not going to invent one to look bigger than we are. Your card issuer handles the conversion.
-
Support answers in Bahasa Indonesia.
Our help channels operate in Indonesian and on Indonesian business hours. The Business Type Wizard itself has English labels, but same-language support in your own time zone is not something we can offer today.
-
Some seeded brands are Indonesian-market.
The phone and computer brands travel well — Samsung, Apple, Xiaomi, ASUS, Lenovo, Dell. The appliance side leans local (Polytron alongside LG and Sharp), and the seeded parts suppliers reflect the Indonesian aftermarket. Every list is editable, but that is your starting point.
-
Every customer story on this site is Indonesian.
Gathered at MTE 2026 and our NGOPI Bareng Automan meetups, then translated. We have no testimonials from outside Indonesia yet, and we would rather say so than imply otherwise.
Everything else on this page you can check yourself in about ten minutes on a free account, which is a sturdier kind of proof than a quotation anyway.

Can I look devices up by IMEI or serial number?
How does it handle repair warranties?
I repair phones and home appliances in the same shop. Is that a problem?
I am outside Indonesia. What should I know before starting?
