Automatic Payroll and Technician Commission Settings

Automan commission setup and a technician slip calculated from recorded work Three connected stages: employee rules, service-specific rules, then commission details through paid status. (App UI shown in Indonesian.)

Commission splits are the classic friction point of repair shops: the technician feels they did a lot, the owner’s notes say otherwise. Automan cuts that debate with one principle: commissions are computed from work logs — data the technicians themselves fill while working.

Once each employee’s rule is set (a percent of the service, or a fixed amount), everyone’s entitlement accumulates automatically and simply gets paid out through payroll.

Before you start

  • The Payroll module is active.
  • Employee (technician) users already created.

Steps

  1. Open the payroll settings

In Settings → Transactions → Payroll, every pay and commission rule is managed from one place.

The payroll settings page under Settings Transactions Payroll
Every pay & commission rule from one place.
  2. Fill Gaji Pokok first, before touching commissions

There is a separate Gaji Pokok (base salary) table on the same page with its own Tambah baru button. Fill this in for every employee first. Shops that jump straight to commissions often forget that some people — the cashier, the admin, the cleaner — never appear on a work log at all, so commission will never count them.

    Enabling the Commission feature
Enable first — the rules table becomes available.
  3. Switch on Aktifkan Bagi Hasil, then set Hitung Bagi Hasil Saat

Two settings that pair up. Once commissions are enabled, a Hitung Bagi Hasil Saat choice appears with two options: Final Status or Take Off. Final Status calculates as soon as the work is declared finished; Take Off waits until the customer has actually collected. This decides when a technician entitlement is born — a question far better answered now than when somebody is asking to be paid.

Adding a Service Commission rule and picking the employee
    Rules are created per employee.
  4. Add commission rules per employee

There are two rule tables: Service Commission (from labor fees) and Parts Commission (from parts). Click Add New on the fitting table, pick the employee the rule applies to, and enable the general rule.

The calculation options: a percentage of the service fee or a fixed amount
Percent of the service, or a fixed amount — per your agreement.
  5. Pick the calculation unit: percentage or fixed amount

Two models: a percentage of the service fee (example: the technician gets 30% of every service they perform) or a fixed amount per service. Enter the number, then Save.

The repair work log as the commission calculation source
Who works it (on the log) gets credited for it.
  6. Understand the source: the work log

Commissions are computed from services on repair work logs — the reason logs must be filled honestly by whoever did the work. Who works it, gets credited for it.

The commission rules table and automatic accumulation from transactions
Accumulates automatically — no notebook recap.
  7. Check the running commission recap

Saved rules show in the Service Commission table, and the computed results accumulate automatically from transactions — no manual notebook recap.

Per-employee payroll processing on the Transactions Payroll menu
Payday recorded tidily; the cash pocket deducted correctly.
  8. Tidy the Slip Gaji before anybody receives one

The Slip Gaji (payslip) section decides what staff actually read: Judul Slip, Tampil Logo, Tampil Detil Tunjangan (show allowance detail), Tampil Detil Potongan (show deduction detail), Tampil Informasi, plus Tampil TTD Perusahaan and Tampil TTD Karyawan for signatures. Advice from experience: switch the allowance and deduction detail on. A payslip showing only a net figure always invites questions, and those questions always come to you.

  9. Understand Mode Lihat: Private or Public

This setting decides whether an employee can see anybody else payroll data. Private means each person sees only their own. For almost every shop, Private is the answer — salaries visible to each other create friction out of all proportion to the benefit.

  10. Run payroll from Transactions → Payroll

When payday comes, open Transactions → Payroll: pay and commission components gather per employee, the payment is recorded (settled at once or in stages), and the cash pocket is deducted correctly.

What you end up with

Commissions computed automatically from work logs per each employee's rule (percent/fixed), and payroll paid with a tidy trail — no manual recaps and no "how much did I do yesterday" debates.

If something goes wrong

A technician's commission isn't computing

Check three things in order: the commission feature is on, a rule for that employee exists in the Service Commission table, and the work log used that technician's account (not someone else's).

Two technicians worked one unit

Each records their own work log under their own account — commission follows the services on each log.

Want different rules per service type

Start with a general rule per employee (easiest to maintain). Finer needs can be layered in once the shop's commission pattern settles.
