Repair Master Data and Services
The repair master is your shop’s “dictionary”: the item types you accept, their brands, their accessories, their problem types, down to the service list and its prices. Once this dictionary is filled, daily repair input becomes pick-and-choose — not retyping.
The next important part is the Services master. Every service stores a name, reference price, and warranty. The shop can also decide whether that reference price stays locked or may be adjusted when the service is added to repair work.
Before you start
- The first-day 30-minute setup is done (Store App active, owner/admin login).
Steps
-
Open Settings → Repairs → Item Types
All repair master data starts here. Add the unit types your shop accepts — a counter enters Phone, Laptop, Printer; a workshop enters Car or Motorcycle. Click Add New, fill the fields, Save. Only the types you genuinely service — more can be added anytime.
Open Settings → Repairs → Item Types, then select Detail to manage brands for that item type. -
Fill in Brands via the Detail button
Click Detail on an item type, then in the Brands table click Add New — Samsung, Xiaomi, Asus for a counter; Toyota, Honda, Yamaha for a workshop. Brands attach per unit type, so laptop brands won't pollute the phone-brand choices during repair input.
-
Fill in Accessories — what comes with the unit
Still on the Detail page, fill the Accessories table: SIM, memory card, charger, box, soft case. This list becomes the intake checklist when receiving a unit — the two-way anchor when someone later asks "did the charger come along or not?".
Four item-type tabs: Accessories, Issue Types, Checklist Items, and Damage Symptoms. -
Fill in Issue Types and Damage Symptoms
Issue Types = the big problem groups (counter: Dead Device, LCD, Battery · workshop: Engine, Electrical, Braking). Damage Symptoms = visible complaints (counter: won't charge, lined screen · workshop: weak brakes, check engine light on). Different roles: issues for grouping and reports, symptoms for capturing the customer's complaint fast without long typing.
-
Fill in Checklist Items — companion items checked separately
Example: a laptop arrives dead, but its charger adapter and hard drive can be checked on their own. Register items like that in the Checklist Items table — during repair input you just mark each one good or damaged.
-
Fill the Services master: name, price, and warranty
Open Settings → Repairs → Services. Every service has a Name, Price, and Warranty using a number plus days, weeks, months, or years. Create only services the shop uses, such as LCD Replacement or Mainboard Repair, with prices and warranties matching shop policy.
Every service has a name, reference price, and warranty duration. -
Choose whether service prices may change during transactions
Open Settings → Repairs → General. Enable "Allow changing service cost when added" when technicians may adjust the master price while adding a service to a work record. Disable it when service prices must always follow the master. The repair work form uses this setting.
Enable this only when the master price may be adjusted during transactions.
What you end up with
The repair master is filled, services have prices and warranties, and transaction-time price editing matches shop policy.
If something goes wrong
Service prices vary with the condition of each unit
Enter a reference price in the Services master, then enable "Allow changing service cost when added" so the work record can adjust it.
A brand doesn't appear during repair input
Brands attach per item type. Check whether you added the brand under the same item type as the unit being entered.
The service price cannot be changed when adding it to work
Check Settings → Repairs → General and enable "Allow changing service cost when added" when price editing is permitted.
